Steve was extremely kind and humble. He was grateful, even for the little things. He never forgot to thank support staff on the FSNet-Africa team. He genuinely cared about young professionals and their development. When we visited Leeds for Summer School in 2022, Steve took time out of his busy schedule to chat to Elizabeth and I about our career plans, among other things. He was supportive of our ideas and encouraged us to keep going. He listened, guided and advised. He was extremely funny and a great team player - The Investigator! He loved Koki Panther and the FSNet-Africa Super Heroes. When he was in South Africa, Steve always enjoyed it when Claire and I danced. He would look at Claire and I as we built up to the dance floor, then he would come and whisper, "I was wondering when you two were going to get started". We laughed, chatted and still worked hard the next day. It is difficult to accept that Steve is gone. I will hold on to your positive nature, your humility and kindness Steve. Rest in Perfect Peace
