Hearing the news of Steve's passing has been such a shock. Steve was such a wonderful mentor to me, he took me under his wing, teaching me the ropes of academic life. He was such a champion for early career members of staff always striving to share his spotlight and I cannot begin to thank him enough for his passion, openness and kind nature. Rest well.
